Spring Dig!

Thank you and well done to all those parents and staff that braved the wind and rain today to work in the grounds around the school. Despite the weather, there were quite a few volunteers.

The new allotment was given some loving.  In particular, paving slabs were laid to provide mud free access to the raised planting beds, a number of shrubs, raspberries and small trees were planted and the overhanging trees were cut back to give more light to the area.

herbs (such as rosemary, parsley, mint, curry) were planted in the planters outside Year 3 classrooms.

Also, a number of parents and children also worked on the Millenium Garden, tidying and planting.

Thanks to the teachers for providing timely, warming drinks and sandwiches and to the parents who kept the children entertained.
