Coleridge Families organise events and activities that provide opportunities for our school community to come together, many of which raise much needed funds for our school.
Here are some of the events that we have organised over the years:
Dusting off those January blues, we run two silent discos back to back in the school hall. Each runs for a couple of hours with lots of dancing, as well as food and drink, facepainting, photo booths and more. Perfect for those dark wintry nights!
These are the opportunity to get out your gardening tools and help improve the school grounds. We have helped build the outdoor classrooms, planted the allotments, cleaned the ponds and many other projects at these Saturday events twice a year.
Our fireworks night is a must on the Coleridge calendar. Held at a local cricket club it really does go off with a bang! A fun filled evening with live music courtesy of the teacher’s band, delicious food and warming drinks, glow in the dark face-painting and more. Like a mini-festival on a Saturday evening, culminating in a fantastic fireworks display.
This is an opportunity to get your children’s artwork printed on a greeting or thank you card – get all your cards done in one half term project.
The Winter Bazaar is one of the children’s favourite event, where they get to “buy” and wrap gifts for their families at Christmas time. Parents and carers provide the gifts in advance and they are pooled together and the children then shop for a minimal amount for their family members.
One for the adults, our annual Quiz Night is a longstanding event at Coleridge. An enjoyable and competive evening where teams of eight pit their wits against each other in a challenging quiz whilst enjoy drinks and snacks from the bar.
Another one for the children during the school day. We hire a bouncy castle and the children are sponsored by you for each bounce.
This is a Year 6 fundraiser for the adults to help raise funds for the Y6 leavers book and party and also to help fund the Y6 PGL trip for those who otherwise couldn’t go. A great opportunity for parents and teachers to display their musical and comedy talents whilst having a good night out.
The Summer Fair is our biggest fundraising event of the year and involves the whole school community. The Fair is arranged by Year 3 who carry out the bulk of the work but every class gets involved and has a specific stall to run. With a sizzling BBQ, lots of fun and games, a large bouncy castle thanks to Martyn Gerrard and so much more, its a fun day out for all the family.
A very traditional PTA event – you bring a cake and then they are sold after school. A favourite with the children.
One for the parents who fancy a personal challenge. In 2018, 25 parents cycled from London to Amsterdam in 24 hours to raise money for the school playgrounds. Through sponsorship and support from the school and local community they raised over a whopping £26,000 for the school.
We are always open to new events or opportunities to fundraise for the school, if you have an idea, please get in touch: coleridgefamilies@gmail.com
